CaliBuddy is a fitness-focused Android application designed to assist users with bodyweight training using real-time pose estimation. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the app.

2. Information Collection and Use

CaliBuddy does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or location. No user data is transmitted to the developer or any external server.

3. Permissions Used

To function properly, CaliBuddy requires the following permissions:

Camera: Used to capture video frames for on-device pose estimation via Google ML Kit. No video or image data is stored or transmitted.
Storage: May be used to allow users to save or access media files within the app. No data is uploaded or shared externally.

All camera processing occurs locally on your device. No video or image data is sent to external servers.

4. Health Connect Data

CaliBuddy integrates with Android Health Connect to display your health and activity data on the in-app dashboard. With your explicit permission, the app reads the following data types:

Active calories burned
Total calories burned
Step count
Distance moved
Exercise sessions
Sleep duration

How this data is handled:

Health Connect data is accessed only after you have granted permission through the Android Health Connect system.
All data is processed and displayed entirely on your device. It is never transmitted to the developer, stored on any external server, or shared with any third party.
The data never leaves your device or the app.
CaliBuddy uses this data solely to display your daily activity and wellness stats on the dashboard, helping you make informed decisions about your training and recovery.
You can revoke Health Connect permissions at any time via Android Settings → Health Connect → App permissions.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

CaliBuddy does not store any personal data or Health Connect data on external servers — there is nothing retained by the developer to delete.

For any data stored locally on your device by the app (such as workout history or app preferences):

You can clear all locally stored app data at any time via Android Settings → Apps → CaliBuddy → Storage → Clear Data.
Uninstalling the app will permanently remove all locally stored data from your device.

For Health Connect data, CaliBuddy only reads this data and never writes to or stores it independently. To manage or delete your Health Connect data, visit Android Settings → Health Connect → Data and access.

6. Third-Party Services

CaliBuddy uses the following third-party service:

Google ML Kit: Used for real-time pose estimation. This operates entirely on-device and no data is shared with Google or any other third party.

7. User Accounts

CaliBuddy does not require or support user registration, login, or account creation. All features are available without signing in.

8. Advertising

CaliBuddy does not display advertisements or use any advertising SDKs.

CaliBuddy does not share your data with any third parties. All processing remains local to your device.

10. Future Changes

While CaliBuddy currently does not collect or store personal data, we may introduce new features in the future (e.g., social features or cloud sync). If this occurs, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly. Users will be notified of any material changes.
